Womens' and Girls' Cricket

BJCC welcomes all girls who want to play cricket - for the first time or as a returning player.

Girls can play in the mixed junior soft ball grades (up to Grade 4) on Saturday mornings. Where possible we will put girls and their friends in the same team. (Note girls are able to play up to two grades below their age/grade if desired.)

In Year 5 girls can continue to play in the Saturday morning mixed hard ball grades or in a girls-only Grade 5-8 soft ball grade on Sunday afternoons. Keen cricketers can play in both formats if they want to.

If we don’t have the numbers to form a BJCC girls team in the girls only grade, we may look to form a Barbarians-style team with girls from other clubs.

We are committed to growing and fostering girls cricket. If your child is interested in playing in a girls only team, please email registrations@bjcc.co.nz so we have an idea of numbers.

News from Wellington Cricket | Womens' and Girls' Cricket

With the summer and cricket season fast approaching, we would like to give you an update on plans for Women and Girls cricket this season.

Our aim is to ensure all our players have access to cricket, at a level they want to play, in the right age group and that they are having fun and enjoying their team and game. We also want to ensure access to coaching and facilities.

We are achieving this through a partnership between Brooklyn, Eastern Suburbs, Victoria University, Karori and Wellington Indoor Sports Clubs (WIS) so we can enter combined teams of Youth and Senior players into the 2023/24 cricket season.
