The Brooklyn Year 8’s had a fantastic time at Hawke’s Bay, winning four games out of five.

The highlight was beating the highly regarded Cambridge team in the 50 over match. Shivam Mistry took an astonishing six wickets to seal the game. Torben Whittle top scored with a very mature 74 off 118 deliveries.

Other highlights for the tournament were:
– an amazing three 50s for Torben Whittle
– a maiden 50 runs for Harry Shirley
– excellent bowling from Shivam Mistry (11 wickets), Harper Macdobald (7 wickets) and Jacob Eade (6 wickets).

Most pleasing of all was the manner in which the boys played. In true Brooklyn spirit, they played hard, but played in the spirit of cricket, respected the opposition and umpires and clapped every opposition batsman off the field. They are a credit to the club.

Thanks to all the parent helpers and the boys for an awesome tournament.
