Congratulations to the BJCC Year 8 team who had a fantastic Labour Weekend tournament.
Game one saw a comfortable win over Porirua, with Seb Heaphy and Jake Eade both reaching 50 with the bat. Torben Whittle continued the big scores in the next win, over Bay of Plenty, with an impressive 93.
The final game was a closely fought third victory against Wellington neighbours Onslow. Shivam Mistry top scored with 41 and was well supported by Harry Shirley (30). That partnership got the team to 200 on a tricky grass wicket. Harper Macdonald, Jake Eade, Xavier James and Shivam contributed with solid bowling to see Onslow fall at 185.
A tired but happy team returned home looking forward to kicking the club season off next weekend. Well done boys.
